I’ve taught THOUSANDS of kids the skills they needed to reach their goals, and along the way, I’ve formed deep meaningful relationships with incredible young people.

Helping kids and families find the joy & love of the game is why I do what I do.

In addition to all the kids who worked hard to earn playing time and make their high school teams, here are a few of our all-star alums who took their game to the college level ...

“Looking back, one of the biggest achievements that truly began in the Edge gym was the foundation Mike helped build in me at such a young age. I was one of the early-day Edge kids—probably around 4th grade—still figuring out who I was as a player. What Mike gave me wasn’t just drills or reps; he helped unlock creativity in my game, which is such a lost art today.

His training developed my handle, my footwork, my ability to see the game differently—but more than that, it developed my confidence. And anyone who’s played at a high level knows confidence is the separator. That foundation carried me through middle school, high school, and ultimately into my collegiate career.

Everything that came after—from playing at the next level to developing my identity as an athlete—started in that Edge gym with Mike pouring into me long before I even knew what I was capable of…”

“The Edge and Mike were a big part of my childhood. My middle school and high school years I lived in Mike's gym and it was a place of learning and fun. All of my siblings and neighbors would also be there with me and we created so many memories while sharpening our skills.

Mike is one of a kind and what makes his gym unique is that YOU ARE ALLOWED TO FAIL. That is how you become a great basketball player. Getting to play at the next level was because of the foundation Mike built for me.”

“My favorite Mike speech is his left hand speech. I remember when I was in fourth grade and he gave me the speech for the first time, he had me hold up my left hand and look at it while I repeated after him, “Left hand, you gots to help me out. I’m sick of Mike yelling at me. I hope to be as good as Mike someday, even though it’s VIRTUALLY impossible.” Ever since that day I never had to say the left hand speech again because it inspired me to use my left hand so I could be as good as Mike!”

Rocky Beers & Karissa Lukasiewicz met in 4th grade in the Edge gym. Ten years later, they got married.

Over the years, I’ve worked with 4 members of the Beers family and 5 members of the Lukasiewicz family. Each one of the 9 kids played college sports.
